Frequently asked questions

What is SignAndGo?
An e-signing app for US businesses. You send PDF or Word documents for signature, track the status of every envelope, and keep every signed copy with its audit trail and completion certificate. It is part of MyAndGo, so the same login also opens ShareAndGo and BookAndGo. See all features. Built to meet the electronic signature requirements of the federal ESIGN Act and each state's electronic signature law.
Are electronic signatures legally binding in the United States?
Yes, for most transactions. In the United States, the federal ESIGN Act and each state's electronic transactions law give electronic signatures and records the same legal effect as paper for most transactions. Most states have adopted the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act; New York has its own Electronic Signatures and Records Act. Some documents are excluded, such as wills, codicils and testamentary trusts, divorce and adoption documents, court orders and certain official notices, such as foreclosure, eviction and insurance-cancellation notices. Check with your adviser which of your documents can be signed electronically.
Do the people signing need an account?
No. Each signer gets an email with a secure link and signs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install, which also suits signers overseas or on a work device.
What kinds of documents can I send?
PDF and Word documents. One envelope can hold several, such as an agreement with its schedules and forms, and the signer works through each in turn. SignAndGo does not supply wording: you upload the documents you already use.
What fields can I put on a document?
Signature, initials, name, date, text and checkbox fields, Yes or No choices where the signer picks one, and file upload fields for a copy of an ID, license or certificate. You choose which signer fills in each field. More on fillable fields.
Can several people sign one document?
Yes. Add as many signers as you need and choose whether they sign in order, where each person gets the link once the one before has finished, or all at once. You can also add an approver, and copy in people such as payroll or a bookkeeper, who receive the finished document without a field of their own.
What is an approver?
Someone who reviews the document without signing it. Put the approver before signing, so nothing goes to signers until they have approved it, or after, as a final approval once everyone has signed. When to use which.
Can someone review a document without signing it?
Yes. Send it for review only and they confirm they have received it, or add them as an approver.
Can I reuse a document I send often?
Yes. Save it as a template with a role for each signer, such as Client or Director, and the documents, fields and signing order are ready next time. A template you save is shared with your workspace, unless you mark it private. How to build one.
How do I know who still needs to sign, and how do reminders work?
Each envelope shows who has opened it, who has signed and who still needs to. Send a reminder yourself from the envelope whenever you choose, or set reminders to go out automatically while a signature is outstanding. In an ordered envelope, only the person whose turn it is needs a reminder.
What happens if someone declines?
They choose to decline and write a short reason. The envelope stops, nobody after them is asked to sign, and the reason shows on the envelope. Correct the document and send a fresh envelope. Getting back on track after a decline.
What do I get when everyone has signed?
Every signer and everyone you copied in receives the finished document by email, with a completion certificate showing who signed and when. The envelope keeps the document, the certificate and the audit trail together.
What does the audit trail record?
Each view and signature, with the person's name and email address, the time, and the IP address and browser used. It stays with the envelope.
How can someone check that a signed document is genuine?
Every signed document carries a verification ID, a short code beginning SAG printed with the signatures. Anyone can enter it on the online check, with no account, and see the document's title, whether its signing is complete, who signed (with email addresses partly hidden) and whether the document matches the record. More on verification IDs.
Where are my documents stored?
Our data storage page sets out where documents are kept, and our services we use page lists every outside service involved.
Can I connect my own AI assistant?
Yes. Connect your AI assistant to SignAndGo and you can ask it to check the status of an envelope, or have it send a document, using your own account. Every send it makes shows in the envelope's audit trail. How to connect it.
Can I run a team workspace?
Yes. Admins invite colleagues, give each person a role and manage who can do what. Envelopes sit in the workspace rather than one person's inbox, so a colleague can check one and send a reminder. Each person can turn on two-step sign-in for extra protection.
Is there an API?
Yes. Use the SignAndGo API and webhooks to send envelopes from your own systems and hear when they are signed. An overview of the API and webhooks.
